The Catholic Action Center acquired 503 Chestnut Street in November
2007 to begin a new community for women who suffer from barriers to
wholeness and need a safe place to live. Our city has experienced an
increase in women over 40 who cope with mental and physical illnesses
that make them vulnerable targets of crime, prostitution, and poverty.
In January 2008, St. Anne House became a home for six women to live in
dignity and safety: a community that will surround them with people who
care and will uphold their God-given dignity. A housemother shepherds
the community and creates a home that is a safe haven for our sisters
in need. If you would like to be a part of
this ministry - volunteering your time, furnishings, or contributing to
the costs – please contact us! |
